If you’re looking to get your car detailed, there are several steps you should take to ensure that your vehicle looks just as beautiful as the day you bought it. From using the right products to the steps you need to take to properly detail your ride, here are five tips for getting the most out of your car detailing session.

Start with an Exterior Wash

Before you start deep cleaning the inside of your car, it’s important to make sure the exterior is clean. Start by washing away dirt, mud, and any other debris that may be stuck on the outside of your car. Be sure to use a gentle soap and soft cloth so you don’t end up scratching or damaging the paint job. Afterward, rinse off all remaining suds with clean water and dry off with a chamois or microfiber towel.

Vacuum Out Debris

Once you’ve washed down the exterior of your car, it’s time to move onto the interior. Start by vacuuming out any dirt or debris that has collected in between and under seats and in other crevices. If you’ve got some furry friends, then give extra attention to areas where pets tend to ride since these crevices may have more pet hair than others. Use an appropriate vacuum attachment for hard-to-reach places like cup holders and between door panels. Also remember to empty and change out vacuum bags as needed during this process.

Clean Interior Surfaces

Now that all visible dirt has been removed from inside the cabin of your car, it’s time to break out the interior cleaning products. Arm yourself with a mild detergent solution—one made specifically for auto interiors—and a few microfiber cloths or towels. Make sure to avoid harsh chemical cleaners like bleach or ammonia as they could damage surfaces like leather or vinyl seating over time if used frequently enough. Spray down each surface one at a time until completely covered before wiping down with a cloth or towel until dry.

Update Your Insurance Policy

It’s important to remember that keeping up regular maintenance on your vehicle can also help keep insurance premiums low too! Many insurance companies offer discounts for drivers who keep their cars clean and well maintained which includes regularly scheduled detailing appointments when necessary! So be sure to update your policy after each detail session just in case you qualify for some savings!

Apply Wax or Sealant

After all surfaces have been thoroughly cleaned both inside and outside, finish off with either wax or sealant depending on what type of product is best suited for your vehicle’s specific model year and make (check owner’s manual). This will not only protect your paint job but also enhance its shine while giving it added protection against future dirt build-up too! Once applied let product sit according to instructions before buffing off any excess residue left behind afterward then enjoy all that sparkle!
